Welcome to the web site of the Lutheran High School Association of St. Louis (LHSA). As you explore the various sections, you will discover how LHSA, with our member congregations, provides college-preparatory Christian education and nurtures a strong community of Christian leaders. This effort began in 1947, when the fledgling association of Lutheran congregations opened the first Lutheran High School in the Central West End with 200 plus students in grades 9 and 10. Now our two college-prep high schools, Lutheran North and Lutheran South, educate one thousand students a year, continuing a rich tradition of quality Christian education.
You can visit each of our schools by going from their pages on this site directly to their own web sites. On this site we focus more on how LHSA creates and sustains a strong community of Christian leaders. You can meet some of those Christian leaders on our front page, or by checking in the various sections for featured individuals.
In About LHSA, you can find out about our Association congregations and how they work together to support Lutheran secondary education. We also introduce you to our Board of Trustees, a dedicated group of individuals who set policy for the Association and its schools.
In Alumni Affairs, you will see how we keep people in touch with each other and with our two schools and learn about up-coming and recently completed reunions. These reunions, and other events for alums help us nurture Christian leaders through fellowship. You can also meet some featured alums.
Finally, in Supporting our Schools, you can learn how the community of Christian leaders can and does contribute to creating the next generation of Christian leaders by supporting special events and contributing to annual, major gifts, and capital campaigns.
