The Board of Trustees, elected to three-year terms by delegates from the Associations member congregations, meets at least six times a year to set policy, plan strategically for the future of Lutheran secondary education in the St. Louis area, and monitor progress on those goals. For 2005 to 2010, they have set five strategic directions: - Assure long-term financial stability of the Association and its schools.
- Become market sensitive as well as mission driven.
- Strengthen an inner dynamic of change and improvement in programs.
- Nurture students for Christian faith in action.
- Be a key player in the Lutheran community of St. Louis.
The Board members for the 2008-2009 year are: Michael Becker. Mike, LHSS 79, is a partner with Hepler Broom Attorneys. He and his wife Sandy (nee Dierberg, LHSS 79) are the parents of two current South students and a South alum. They are members of Glendale Lutheran Church. Mike chairs the Communication and Outreach Committee of the Board.
Robert Breimeier. Bob retired from Smurfit-Stone as Corporate Purchasing Vice President. He and his wife Sherryl are members of King of Kings Lutheran Church and they have two adult children. Marilyn Bricker, Chair. Marilyn, LHSS 62, is a volunteer for a variety of Lutheran organizations, and the parent of five graduates of South. She and her husband John (LHSS 62) are members of Christ Memorial Lutheran Church. The Rev. Joel Christiansen. Joel, a 1974 alum of LHSN, is pastor of the Lutheran Church of Webster Gardens and the parent of Lutheran South alums. His wife Lori (nee Vogelsmeier) is also a Lutheran North (1974) graduate. Rhonda Cross. Rhonda, LHSN 76, is an IT Specialist for the U.S. Department of Defense. She and her husband Kevin, LHSN 75, are the parents of a current and a graduate student of Lutheran North. They are members of Salem Lutheran Church (Black Jack).
Susan Flesch. Sue is the Executive Director of the Gifted Resource Council and a member of Bethel Lutheran Church. She and her husband, Wayne, are the parents of three Lutheran North graduates.
Thomas Hohenstein, Vice Chair. Tom, LHSN 78, is a partner in the firm, Gallop, Johnson & Neuman, L.C. He and his wife, Elizabeth (nee Grueneberg, LHSN 79) are the parents of a current, graduate and upcoming Lutheran North students. They are members of Unity Evangelical Lutheran Church. Ron Komlos. Ron, LHSS 82, is the president/owner of Flooring Systems, Inc. He and his wife Sandra have one child and they are members of St. John Lutheran Church (Arnold). Randy Littlejohn. Randy owns an Allstate Insurance Agency in North County. He and his wife Stephanie (nee Ford LHSN 73) attend Immanuel Chapel Lutheran Church, and their two daughters are both graduates of Lutheran North. Gary Mantei. Gary, LHSN 73, is president of CRH Transportation, Inc. Both of his children attended Lutheran South and he chairs the Board's Development Committee. Gary and his wife, Mary Beth, are members of Salem Lutheran Church (Affton).
Michael Schoedel, Treasurer. Mike is a Special Projects Coordinator for Apex Oil Co. and a 1986 alum of Lutheran South. He and his wife, Alyson, have two children and they are members of Concordia Lutheran Church (Kirkwood).
Sharon Shearman, Secretary. Sharon is a member and the Director of Family Ministry at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Des Peres. She and her husband, David, are the parents of three graduates of Lutheran South. Sandra Siepman. Sandy is a homemaker, church and community volunteer. She is a former faculty member at Lutheran North; her two children both graduated from Lutheran South, along with her husband Stephen (1973). They are members of Salem Lutheran Church (Affton).
W. Ted Torgerson. Ted is a senior manage for the Boeing Co. He and his wife, Terry are the parents of both a current student and a graduate of Lutheran South. They are members of Concordia Lutheran Church (Kirkwood).
The Rev. Rodney Wise. Rodney is the pastor of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church and he and his wife, Julie, are the parents of a current student and a graduate of Lutheran North.
