On the North Campus

The James R. Crane Athletic Complex continues to be a great blessing to the Lutheran North community.  The Bill Lamothe Football Field, the Petersen Memorial Track, the Walter Negwer Baseball Field, the Vogelsmeier Soccer Field, a softball field, a second soccer field, and a practice field combine to be among the best of high school athletic facilities in the metro area.  Thanks be to God!

The Negwer and Vogelsmeier Fields were christened at the Fall Homecoming celebration on October 14, 2006.  On this day, family and friends joined together to celebrate this special day with Walter Negwer and Wayne and Lois Vogelsmeier.

In a special service of praise and thanksgiving on November 9, 2006, the Lutheran North gym floor was named the Belew Floor.  This was done in thankfulness for the gift of $150K from Mark and Deb Belew.  This gift helped North complete the fundraising for the athletic complex.  To God be the glory!

On the South Campus

We have replaced all the backboards and rims in the main gymnasium. Our backboards on the four side baskets were old, rectangular backboards that could not be kept straight and would become tilted.

The main baskets now have glass backboards that are 42 by 72. This is the standard size by the National Federation of High School Sports. The side baskets have backboards that are 48 by 72. All the baskets now have breakaway rims and clear fiberglass backboards. The total cost of the project was $19,000, a very good price for the quality of baskets that our boys and girls will now be using.
