Do you have to be Lutheran to be part of the Lutheran High Schools?
Our principals and president must be Lutheran. Teachers and staff are expected to be active Christians, and the majority are Lutheran. Our students include members of both Lutheran and other Christian denominations.
What is the current tuition at Lutheran North and Lutheran South?
Tuition for the 2007-2008 school year is $7,625 for Association members and $8,825 for Non-Association members.
Tuition for the 2008-2009 school year is $8,225 for Association members and $9,425 for Non-Association members.
Discounts are available for multiple children in the same family.
Do the Lutheran High Schools offer financial aid?
All students are eligible to apply for financial aid. The family must apply and an independent agency evaluates need. Between the two high schools, about 50% of our students receive some financial aid.
Who do I contact with questions about tuition payment?
For information about tuition payments, payment plans and deferral of payments, contact Grace Stroup at 314-382-6664, ext. 320.
How important is congregational support of the Lutheran High School Association?
Approximately 9% of the operating budget of the Lutheran High Schools comes from congregational financial contributions; that allows us to keep tuition lower for our families.
Do all congregations provide equal levels of support?
No, congregations vary in their ability to make a financial contribution, but all member congregations make a financial commitment to the Association each year. Some of our congregations are very generous, contributing at a level that covers both the tuition discounts provided for their students and the tuition discounts awarded to families from our congregations that have fewer financial resources.
What proportion of the annual budget of the schools comes from donations?
Approximately 6.5% of the annual budget comes from donations (see Supporting our Schools). In addition, most of the new construction on each campus is supported with donations.
Does money given to one of the two schools support activities at the other school?
Although the Association has a unified budget, donations designated for one of the two schools is used to support that school, not the other. Much of the fund-raising is done specifically for each school, and even contributions to the Paul Lange Annual Fund can be designated to one of the two schools.
Who should I contact if I wish to make a donation?
You can contact the Lutheran High School Association [314-382-6650] directly, or go to Supporting our Schools for more information about the opportunities to make donations.
What are the names and phone numbers of Lutheran elementary schools?
See the link below to LESA (Lutheran Elementary School Association). All Lutheran elementary schools are listed on that site.

Who handles buying of supplies/technology at the schools?
The individual schools do most of their own purchasing, although the Association has contracts with some vendors. Contact each school office for school-related supplies and the Association [314-382-6650] for vendor contracts or information about purchase orders.
I need to verify employment of an individual. To whom do I speak?
