Physical Education and Health Teacher

The Lutheran High School Association of St. Louis is seeking to hire a full-time Physical Education/Health Teacher for its Lutheran High School North campus for the 2019-2020 school year.
 
Lutheran North is a diverse educational community whose unity is in Jesus Christ. Our community is very strong and well supported. The curriculum is college-prep and this is a fantastic place to work.
 
The teacher’s responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Teaching classes as assigned
  • Establishing and maintaining a classroom climate that supports a learning environment for all students
  • Daily keeping and reporting of student records (attendance, grades, etc.)
  • Co-curricular supervisory activities as agreed upon with school administration
  • Establishing clear objectives for all lessons, units and projects, and communicating those objectives to students
  • Collaborating and communicating with staff to meet the educational needs of students
  • Creating, administering, and grading tests to evaluate student progress
 
Qualifications:
  • Must possess a secondary teaching certificate from the State of Missouri
  • Preferably has a minimum of 5-years of teaching experience
  • Ability and patience to work interactively with students
  • Skill in organization, time management, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to deliver teaching instruction in accordance with approved curriculum and standards
  • Excellent skills in verbal and written communication
  • Ability to understand the individual needs of each student
  • Must espouse and minister in accordance with the school’s philosophy of Christian education
