Middle School Teacher (part-time)

The Lutheran High School Association of St. Louis has an immediate opening for a part-time Middle School teacher (grades 6 – 8) focusing primarily in mathematics for its Lutheran North Middle & High School campus.

Summary of Duties and Areas of Responsibilities: The teacher’s responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Teaching classes as assigned
  • Maintaining a classroom climate that supports a learning environment for all students
  • Develop positive relationships with students, families, teachers and staff
  • Establish and maintain strong communication with all parents and share progress
  • Participate in school-wide and individual professional development
  • Plan and use appropriate instructional/learning strategies, activities, materials and technology that reflect accommodation for individual needs of students assigned
  • Integrate technologies in the teaching/learning process
  • Consistently assess student achievement through formal and informal testing
 
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor Degree
  • Valid Missouri teaching certificate or willingness to become certified asap
  • A minimum of 3+ years of teaching experience preferred
  • Strong skillsets/aptitude to teach mathematics preferred
  • Strong instructional and classroom management skills
  • Strong organization, planning and time management skills
  • Ability to develop academically rigorous lessons, unit plans, rubrics and assessment
  • Must espouse and minister in accordance with the school’s philosophy of Christian education
