Facilities Supervisor

The Lutheran High School Association of St. Louis is seeking to fill the position of Facilities Supervisor at the Lutheran High School South Campus. This is a full-time, exempt position and the incumbent is responsible for the supervision and monitoring of all aspects of facilities maintenance, custodial and grounds and reports directly to the Director of Facilities and the Principal.
 
SUMMARY OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Acts in accordance with established Association and School policies and procedures
  • Supervises the maintenance of tools and equipment of the trade, maintains records for transportation (maintenance and use), assigns the necessary maintenance of vehicles, understands all aspects of facility supervision, facility maintenance, grounds maintenance and custodial duties, and ability to supervise and/or train assigned employees in these duties
  • Be available for supervision of emergency response situations
  • Schedules maintenance activities of all Facility/Ground/General Technicians, and Custodial staff
  • Monitors and assigns work order requests
  • Maintains orderly and organized workshop areas
  • Monitors machines, tools of the trade and related equipment
  • Assigns and monitor daily inspections of school buses and work vans for safety, cleanliness and fuel level; coordinates major repairs of the buses and work vans, coordinates inspections of the buses and work van for licensing and safety
  • Coordinates all facility and grounds inspections with outside agencies
  • Be able to perform for training purposes maintenance needs as follows but not limited to the following: electrical(switches, fuses, bulbs, light fixtures, etc.), HVAC (boilers, pumps, pipes, heaters, controls, thermostats, water system, window, split and package A.C. units, etc.), plumbing (toilet repair, drinking fountains, water heaters, pipes, showers and drains, etc.), misc. facility repairs (windows, shades, flooring, ceiling, doors (closures and repairs), desks and furniture, and lockers, etc.)
  • All other duties as directed by the Director of Facilities and/or the Principal
 
QUALIFICATIONS
  • A lifestyle that is consistent with the Christian mission of the LHSA and that demonstrates Christian propriety in matters of conduct
  • Maintains a personal pride and ownership of the campus property and related areas, athletic fields, etc.
  • Respects time by being punctual; uses time efficiently and plans a daily work routine
  • Ability to work courteously affectively with people in normal and pressure situations
  • Proactive in determining the needs of the building and related areas
  • Must possess a CDL (Commercial Driver’s License)
 
EDUCATIONAND EXPERIENCE
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Trade certificate useful but not required
  • CDL certified as trainer and driver (preferred)
  • Three or more years’ experience in Facility Maintenance
  • Three or more years’ experience as a Supervisor in the facilities/maintenance field
